Message from the Principal

Industrial Training Institute, Khowai started it's journey on 29th November, 2012 with an aim to provide vocational Training to the local communities of the newly added district of Tripura, Khowai. It is an excellent platform to acquire excellent Craftsmanship skills in a short duration of time.

Government Industrial Training Institute, Khowai plays a huge role in Khowai and nearby areas. Our Institute has been educating and training students since 2012 both in Modular Employable Skills (MES) and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) , and adheres to the teaching principles of dialog and active participation to foster Technical education and self expression. We want all of our students to develop their skill set even further, and push themselves to be the greatest they can be an asset to the local communities and the nation as a whole.

History:

Industrial Training Institute, Khowai was set up in 2012. It started its journey with 4 trades namely COPA (Computer Operator and Programming Assistant), Electrician, Mason and Pump Operator cum Mechanic to impart technical training in various trades and is constituted under Directorate General of Training (DGT) previously known as Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour & Employment, Union Government of India and it is now run by the Government of Tripura.

Location:

Government Industrial Training Institute is located at Sonatala, Khowai which is about four and half Kilometers away from the Khowai Motorstand.

Our objectives are:

1.To provide vocational training ITI students, existing workers and dropouts to improve their employability .

2.To improve the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers..

3.To reduce the unemployment among the educated youths and equipping them for suitable industrial employments.

4.To provide job training in their establishment.

5.To improve the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers..

7.To build competency standards and excellent centre of practical based training learning centre.

Courses included in Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) are:

i) Accounts Assistant using Tally

ii) Electrician Domestic

iii) DTP and Print Publishing Assistant

Admission Notice/Criteria

For admission to Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) Courses, application shall be made in the prescribed format, published with the advertisement in the local dailies, accompanied by attested copies of mark sheets and other credentials.

Advertisements regarding admissions are generally published during the month of May or June and counseling and candidate selection process generally begins in the month of July. Academic session starts from the month of September.
